Job Description

This position is located at our premier Product Development & Research (PD&R) facility in Carrollton, TX. Working on new product initiatives providesa large opportunity to innovate intellectual properties. As of October 2019, PD&R is approaching upon 700 patents issued. Lennox International (LII) has rewarding practices for engineers who bring creativity and innovation to our products. Advanced Controls and User interfaces (through mobile applications) is a key differentiator from our competitors. As such our organization has continued to grow as the demand for this technology grows in the market.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a Supervisor of Electrical Engineering, you will be working hands-on along your team of engineers and technicians to calibrate, troubleshoot and implement processes. You will manage the team focused on maintaining and updating test equipment including PCs, Data Acquisition and SCADA Systems and the associated devices and equipment. In addition, you will work cross-functionally and provide support to the testing lab while identifying, developing and implementing automated measurement and control processes and procedures that result in enhancing the software and user experience. You will need to be heavily skilled in the area of troubleshooting as this position interacts with multiple disciplines and systems in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline.

  • Heavy familiarity with instrumentation and interfacing to various data acquisition and control systems.

  • Process Control / Hardware Support / Commissioning ofTest Systems including final Acceptance Testing

  • Minimum 3 years’ of supervisory / management experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience Ladder Logic design / PLC programming and Configuration

  • Proficient in MS Office applications

  • Strong understanding of computer hardware

  • Familiarity with human / equipment safety systems, control networks and advanced process control strategies

  • Systematic approach to problem definition and solution development

  • Ability to read and understand schematics / P&ID’s

  • Strong math and physics background

  • Ability to trouble shoot systems using DMM’s and other instrumentation

  • Ability to work as a member of cross-functional team

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

Additional Qualifications that will contribute to success in this role:

  • Exposure to environmental chamber / thermodynamic test applications

  • Exposure to WONDERWARE INTOUCH or other HMI software applications

  • Exposure to National Instruments Lab View

  • Familiarity with In Visual Basic / VBA

  • Familiarity with database and networking applications

  • Familiarity with thermodynamics, HVAC, and/or refrigeration systems

  • Working knowledge of R&D instrument calibration, metrology, and measurement uncertainty

  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 and other testing standards to achieve 100% compliance to agency audits conducted by Intertek, CSA, and UL
