Job Description


As the Facility Maintenance Technician, you will perform highly complex repairs, modifications and preventative maintenance on buildings, facilities, equipment and systems. You will have the opportunity to rebuild machinery, rewiring, reconditioning, refurbishing, repainting and make modifications. You will also be leading interdisciplinary teams, including electrical, mechanical and hydraulic technicians along with project management with coordinating all facilities work with internal employees and third-party vendors.   • Perform maintenance service and repairs in the areas of carpentry, painting and plastering.

  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools, power tools and reassemble equipment.

  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary.

  • Inspect drives, motors and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions following checklists.

  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery and equipment.

  • Inspect, operate and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.

  • Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.

  • Coordinate the work of outside contractors.

  • Provide work leadership for lower level maintenance mechanics through assignment of work.

  • Provide technical guidance and review of assignment progress.

  • Expert knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings, or other structures.

  • Expert knowledge of design techniques, tools, blueprints, drawings, and models.

  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Able to move at least 50 lbs.
