Job Description

General Summary:

The person in this position manages and coordinates theday to day operations of a travelling install project team. Theywill ensure safety for all employees and sub-contractors and adhere to all regulation and policies of safety. This position also requires the management of time lines for successful completion of projects while maintaining budget and achieving financial goals.

  • Oversee the work performed by employees and Subcontractors as it pertains to the dismantling, removal, assembly and installation of commercial HVAC equipment

  • Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders and assign duties to employees

  • Study production schedules and estimate labor requirements for completion of job assignments

  • Prepare estimates and proposals

  • Establish and adjust work procedures to meet production schedules

  • Enforce safety regulations and implement regular safety training for all employees and contractors

  • Maintain appropriate inventory of tools, equipment and materials

  • Recommend measures to improve production, equipment performance and quality of product

  • Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports

  • Conduct pre-project kick-off meetings with Customer representatives to review scope and plan

  • Update Customers on progress throughout the Project

  • Ensures adherence to quality standards

  • Works closely with various departments to foster an environment of Teamwork where we can improve our delivery to our Customers

  • Escalate issues, as necessary, to direct Manager and Leadership Team

  • Communicate effectively and understand the correct medium for the situation (phone, email, text, F2F)

  • Conduct post mortem studies to determine where Projects either succeeded or failed and develop Plans to learn from the Company’s experiences

  • Complete close-out procedure for Projects including gathering and assembling post-install pictures and documents as well as invoicing for completed work

  • Seeks new Subcontractor relationships in strategic locations to strengthen coverage areas for our Customers


5 years Prior Leadership experience

Excellent communication skills

Ability to lead and coach 4-15 people in a Team environment

5 years HVAC knowledge or comparable experience

Successful track record of P&L management

Ability to climb ladders safely

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to carry out projects from inception to completion with minimal direction; works with a high degree of urgency and self-motivation

Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely

Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, and listen attentively to others

Ability to produce high-quality work consistently, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Superior organization, time management and project management skills

Ability to anticipate needs and adjust accordingly to ensure timely and budgetary commitments

Ability to travel; 90% of time for weeks at a time if necessary
