Job Description

The Inventory Optimization Analyst I assists in application of statistical and qualitative methods to optimize inventory settings, policies and practices.

  • Applies statistical analysis and business knowledge to assist in optimizing inventory parameter setting.

  • May contribute to inventory management policies and processes.

  • Supports implementation across locations

  • Applies policies to analyze and maintain stocks at Distribution and store locations

  • May contribute to standards to track and monitor inventory results relative to objectives.

  • Coordinates with Supply and Demand Planning to update key inventory parameters that drive the planning and execution systems.

  • Works with the organization to communicate and validate the strategic inventory assortment and working capital objectives.

  • Has the ability to develop in coordination with sales, customer specific stocking strategies and solutions that optimize sales and the customer experience while minimizing future obsolescence and meeting inventory turn goals.

  • The ability to perform detailed customer sales analysis, capture customer sales intelligence and effectively communicate the results of that analysis to multiple levels and disciplines, internal and external to the company. Understanding of industrial manufacturing, capacity planning and operations preferable.

Qualifications

  • Requires as bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Masters Degree is preferred.

  • Developing business acumen. Understanding of inventory optimization analysis.

  • Able to research best practices.

  • Ability to apply appropriate statistical methods to large data sets.

  • Understands how decisions impact sales, attrition, working capital and costs.

  • Strong understanding of end to end Supply Chain Management principles.

  • Good decision-making and problem solving skills. Knowledge of continuous improvement tools.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, master data importance, and planning, preferably SAP.
