Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration is a long-standing leader in the world of commercial refrigeration, providing climate-control solutions to customers in more than 70 countries. Their state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in the cities of Stone Mountain, Columbus and Tifton, Georgia, produce evaporators, condensers, compressor racks, merchandise display cases and other top-quality refrigeration products for their six market-leading brands: Bohn, Larkin, Climate Control, Chandler, Kysor/Warren and InterLink. This senior manager leads a multi-site distribution network, with direct responsibility for the performance of distribution operations relative to safety, operational plans, budget, and shipping and inventory accuracy.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Being a champion for safety in all non-manufacturing locations, which includes ensuring the timely completion of training, adherence to all safety and OSHA policies, the upkeep of all vehicles and equipment, and the continuous improvement and effectiveness of our safety programs.
Ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures, including compliance activities.
Increasing the productivity and efficiency of all Distribution Center operations, through the use of continuous improvement methodology and standardization.
Ensuring that all products, whether finished goods or purchased components are appropriately handled, stored, and loaded to minimize product damage, whether through internal processes or during transportation.
Achieving and sustaining on-time shipment and on-time delivery goals
Collaborating with Customer Service, Factory Operations, and Transportation to ensure that delivery goals are achieved.
Implement inventory control processes and procedures to achieve and sustain accuracy goals.
Achieve goals related to distribution expenses, including planning, staffing, repair & maintenance, and other items related to budget management.
Partner with the Transportation group to ensure that our business achieves goals related to freight expenses.
Train, develop, and mentor direct reports, while ensuring that the whole organization is appropriately staffed and trained.
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Requires at least 8-10 years of relevant experience.
Requires previous direct management of a large, multi-shift, high-volume, fast-paced warehouse environment
Excellent knowledge of regional distribution center best practices, policies, procedures, and terms of trade
Experiential knowledge of fiscal control, budget forecasting, and distribution operation metrics
Excellent leadership and able to build successful teams
Familiar with lean distribution methodologies
Excellent decision making and creative problem solving skills
Steady performer under pressure
Requires computer literacy in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Prefer experience within HVAC/R or white goods industries
