Job Description

Manufacturing Specialist

The Manufacturing Specialist will be responsible for providing technical leadership and performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on multiple machines.

The Manufacturing Specialist will also be responsible for inspecting parts to print and making adjustments, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality per specifications.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as point of contact for other operators on shift for technical advice and to coordinate production related activities

  • Performs as needed in a variety of manufacturing jobs as needed (e.g. brazing, wiring, assembler, run testing, etc.).

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment

  • Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment

  • Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops

  • Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials

  • Perform the duties of a safety first responder

  • Housekeeping – 5S

  • Enter maintenance work orders in EAM as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

Work Schedule:

M-F 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM


Skills & proficiencies:

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent, technical degree is a plus. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within this particular field.

  • Experience as a machine operator

  • Knowledge of production procedures

  • Experience as forklift operator desirable; Certification will be required

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals

  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing equipment is desired

  • Must have demonstrated flexibility in moving from job to job as needed.

  • Must have been willing and able to move to the need when requested to do so.

  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills

  • Certification as safety first responder will be required
