As a LennoxStrategic Sourcing Principal, you will be responsible for analyzing the global spend($75M+)within a specific HVAC component category and formulating the company’s global sourcing strategy for that category, driving year-over-year Material Cost Reduction (MCR) and working with multiple disciplines for the introduction of new products. A successful SSMwill drive and manage cost reduction projects and successfully implement projects across three business units. There will be significant involvement with the Asian sourcing team to manage component suppliers and the ability to travel overseas will be required. The SSLwill be heavily involved in quoting assemblies to determine best cost regions and VAVE activities for the identification of cost reduction opportunities. Vetting of project ideas is ongoing to build a strong pipeline of savings projects to achieve 3-5% savings annually.
Identify MCR ideas through VAVE and supplier workshops.
Analyze and prioritize MCR projects to achieve 3-5% cost reduction per year.
Manage projects to implement according to timeline.
Manage the company’s supply portfolio ensuring transparency of spending.
Generate and implement efficient sourcing and supply chain strategies.
Analyze costs of procurement, and suggest methods to decrease expenditure.
Implement successful negotiation strategies and secure profitable deals.
Cooperate with stakeholders to guarantee agreement on terms and processes.
Research, and anticipate shifts in the negotiating leverage of suppliers.
Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
Estimate risks, and apply risk minimizing techniques.
Seek out and partner with trustworthy vendors and suppliers.
5years of experience sourcing direct material is required.
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
A master's degree or equivalent is preferred
Demonstrated ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships.
Experience in the HVAC industry is preferred
An aptitude for product technology along with an understanding of design and reliability processes
Strong project management and leadership skills.
Comfortable with collecting, analyzing, and interpreting financial data.
Ability to work with various Lennox business functions (ex: marketing, engineering, program management, demand planning, purchasing, Lennox India Technology Center, Lennox Asia Sourcing and Engineering Center, and Lennox business unit executives).
Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A master's degree or equivalent is preferred. Requires at least 10 years related experience.
Knowledge of contract law, the RFQ process, supplier and part qualification processes, low cost country sourcing. Excellent negotiation, presentation, analytical, planning, project management, written, and verbal skills. Ability to lead a cross functional commodity team and work across the organization at all levels, and develop strategic commodity plans.
